Windlight Quill and Pen - Volume 1, Issue 1
Windlight magazine is owned and run by Johannes1977, one of our Galleria Kakku artists. When I saw that they were collecting short stories and poems for a new literary journal, I was excited but very nervous, as I had just started writing fiction in English, and did not feel very confident. But to my absolute delight my story made it!
Windlight Quill and Pen - Volume 1, Issue 1 is now out for free as an ebook on Smashwords and on Issuu, and it will be available in Barnes and Nobles, Kobo, iTunes, and Scribed, soon.

Purple cat for Bri now at Galleria Kakku. Pie's Art Walk Art after event.
Art Walk is over and being taken down today. It is so sad to see it go every year.
I wanted to write a quick note about what happens to my art.
You can still donate to Help Bri with her dream to become a teacher. The 100% donation piece and the poster with the link to her GoFundMe page are at the Galleria Kakku staircase behind the poster wall.
The other few pieces I had up for Art Walk are at my little shop at Small World Art Gallery & Mall alongside my Vio series.

Veljkissa / Brother cat - The Shared Adventure 2016 at SL13B
I really recommend this new project by Instincta Van Helsinki at SL13B. The festival opens June 19th at SL noon. I was lucky to assist Instincta in the project as a location and prop manager and costume designer, so I saw the whole creative process. There is the quality and style you would expect from her, with a lot of feeling and thought put into the story the piece tells. The sounds were by Stem Van Helsinki, whom she has done many previous projects with.
Veljkissa / Brother cat - The Shared Adventure 2016 is about love:
"Welcome to the fountain of memories. This is a Story about undying love.
When someone you have a deep affection for becomes a memory, that memory will be your treasure.
That's what happened to our little guy, who never imagined his brother would be so far away. But he knows that they will meet again in Nangijala or some other place".
Instincta owns and runs the Valo gallery with Stem.
She also has a booth at Galleria Kakku and a sculpture on our courtyard. If you have not visited yet, now is the time!

New exhibit at Oller Belair Art Gallery by Pencarrow Oller
Pencarrow Oller has a new exhibit at Oller Belair Art Gallery, where she exhibits exclusively. She is a real life artist, who is practicing owning a gallery in Second Life to get ideas for her future plans to own one in real life. She seems to have a real appreciation and love for art: "When I paint I feel joy. Painting connects me to the joy of living. When I finish painting I am more often than not elated not just because I have finished but because I lived."
Rosa Philosophorum is her third exhibit in Second Life. The name is "a very small nod to the Rosarium philosophorum - The Rosary of the Philosophers, a treatise the name of which refers to a 'rose garden' metaphoric of an anthology of wise sayings. Rosa Philosopher refers to the people who provided me with wonderful feedback on my first exhibition", according to Oller.
Oller is interested in how others perceive her art and how it affects them. This is a collection of 12 paintings, which are "directly related to their personal visual perception which I was able to assimilate a little but gain much. The challenges presented were in essence technical".
Oller Belair Art Gallery also has a "sculpture park", where Pencarrow Oller is showcasing 8 sculptures that according to the artist "are exercises in understanding design, construction and rhythm". "I'm very interested in the idea of rhythm in both painting and sculpture. You will recognise homage paid to Calder, Nevelson and others", she continues.
In addition to this showcasing, there is a real life guest artist for June: Orsini Tarantal, whom I blogged about recently, and a permanent exhibitor Jaime Poutine.

Vio series by Pieni and opening of exhibit by Karma Weymann today 12pmSLT
I have owned Galleria Kakku for a while now and finally decided to get my act together and showcase some of my own art. I have had exhibits in Second Life before but quite sporadically. I do some art in real life, but not as much as I would like to.
Vio is a series of 22 images made by combining Second Life photography and materials such as watercolor papers on Gimp. I have also included a quote that inspired me.
Two roads diverged in a wood and I
- I took the one less traveled by,
and that has made all the difference.
- Robert Frost
While I was doing a blog post about the Small World Art Gallery, I decided to rent a little shop at their mall. My series is now also available there. This place is good for visibility, so I recommend it to any artist. They have events that bring a lot of people. And plenty of great art to inspire you. (adult sim)
Today Saturday June 11th, at 12pm SLT they have the opening of an exhibit by Karma Weymann, who has not showcased in Second Life before but has quite a following on Flickr. There is going to be a dj and she is promising that these are her best works for your viewing pleasure.

Suzume Zuki, Kayly Iali and Silas Merlin featured at Small World Art Gallery
Suzume Zuki recently joined Galleria Kakku and is now showcasing at a new gallery as well! She sent me the landmark and soon as I had a free moment I hopped over for a look. You may know her works from Art Walk, and her recent exhibit at Raglan Shire Tree Gallery. She has a gallery of her own by her store in Raglan Commons.
This new showcase of hers will not disappoint. I was glad to see such a sizable selection of her works.
Small World Art Gallery is owned and curated by Mikey Jefford. It had it's official opening on June 4th, 2016. There is plenty of space on land level and in the sky. You can find both 2D and 3D works of art.
The gallery has been already blogged by two big art bloggers Ziki Questi and Inara Pey, Questi being one of the featured artists herself.
I did find some other familiar names, too. Silas Merlin has a beautiful location for his art with a view out to the garden from one window and towards the sea from another. A new selection of his works always brings pleasant surprises. You can find both his sculptures and paintings here.
The industrial look of the gallery building really makes the earthy colors of the paintings by Kayly Iali pop. Plenty of light to show all the every day treasures she makes so inviting for us. She is constantly producing new works and I recommend you follow her real life blog to keep up to date.
Make sure to visit both the landlevel and the skybox galleries. And look around as some of the sculptures are on the grounds and around the public spaces.

Indigo Puddle and Temba double exhibit at Raglan Shire Art Gallery June-July
Some mornings are tougher than others, but today soon as I logged in SL, I was cheered up by a message from Indigo Puddle. He had sent me his art work of me! I love it! I am so honored to be included. I have to (jokingly) tell you, that you need not paint me to get me to your exhibit, but it does not hurt, either!
Besides his awesome portraits of friends, Indigo is also showcasing some great abstract works.
The double exhibit at Raglan Shire Tree Gallery by Indigo and Temba will be open June and July, 2016. And as you can see in the background, Art Walk is still open and runs through June 19th!

Book Launch Party of Daisy The Gator 11am today and exhibit by Orsini Tarantal
First I want to recommend a book launch event today Sunday 5th of June, 11 am SLT, at Raglan Shire Studios. Our very own Daisy The Gator has had her writings in several countries in anthologies and online collections, as well as self published her stories, one of which was an Amazon Kindle Short Read Best Seller.
Today we celebrate the launch of her new book: Daisy Gator's Little Book of Remarkable Persons, which consists of eight short stories of speculative fiction. G-rated sim. Everyone is invited.
As you may know from her booth at Galleria Kakku, her own store and her spot at Art Walk, Daisy is a popular artist in Second Life.
Secondly, I was recommended this exhibit recently.

Secondly, I was recommended this exhibit recently.
"Almost all the paintings: watercolors, acrylics, drawings and oil paintings belong to a particular time of the author's life. The exhibit of Javier (Orsini Tarantal) at the Oller Belair Art Gallery is a fantastic showcase of beautiful paintings by a professional artist. The same artist also builds museum grade large scale historic sailing ship models. You can see the model building skill enrichening the artworks in the attention to detail and understanding of the subject.
A journey that begins in darkness (shipwrecks) and ends in the light (ports)
What better place for a long journey to the vast and open sea, always looking for the lighthouse to illuminate the way and bring us to nuesro destination?
Storms, shipwrecks, lighthouses, ports and cities are the memories of this trip, always in search of that place where nail roots, where land is strong and secure, where you can relax at the end ..."
Javier (Orsini Tarantal )
